What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for Board of Directors! As a Board Member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction, governance, and overall success of the organization. Your commitment to the mission and vision of the organization, coupled with your expertise, will contribute to the well-being and enrichment of the lives of seniors in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Actively participate in the formulation and implementation of strategic plans to ensure the organization’s long-term success.
- Executive Director Oversight: Ensure that the Executive Director is effectively implementing the strategies and plans approved by the board.
- Governance: Attend regular board meetings and actively engage in discussions on organizational policies, financial matters, and programmatic initiatives.
- Financial Oversight: Contribute to fundraising efforts by leveraging personal and professional networks, participating in donor cultivation, and supporting grant applications.
- Advocacy and Community Relations: Serve as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and programs within the community.
- Committee Participation: Participate in board committees and task forces, bringing expertise and insights to specific areas such as finance, marketing, fundraising, and program development.
- Support and Fundraising: Contribute to the organization’s fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
- Experience in senior services, program services, management, accounting, human resources.
- Ability to commit time (~10-15 hours per month) forboard meetings, committee work, and events.
Term: Board members typically serve a term of 3 years with the possibility of renewal.
